5 Steps to Win People Over & Shine in a Crowd
I am the black sheep of the black sheep herd… Growing up, I had a philosophy that is people didn’t like something I was determined to like it. People didn’t like the dentist? I loved going to the dentist! No one liked broccoli? It became my favorite veggie, especially when it was covered in that gooey, melted cheese…. Yum!
The only problem was, this “choosing to be different” mentality kept me from every really being accepted because “I just had to be different”! My poor family really tried to accept me, but I just kept finding new ways to be different from everyone else in the world, and it wasn’t until those differences drove me into a very dark place… literally! I sat in my room for days and hours at a time, my need to stand out and not be like my family drove me further and further from the Lord, until one day I got a wake up call when my mother literally bashed down my door. Standing in the doorway like some hero there to rescue the civilians capture by the villain, she pulled me out of that dark room and asked me point blank - “When was the last time you spoke to Jesus?”
The ice that covered me in that moment was horrifying as I realized I had not heard the voice of my best friend for a VERY long time, and my body was quite literally starved for the breath of fresh air He brought with His gentle breeze. The road to recovery was a long one after that, but through facing my boasting differences and coming to terms with being “normal” I discovered the power of being apart of my community and how unique I actually was because of my family!
So, my dear war buddy, I want to encourage you today and help you identify why you are facing so much rejection out there, I promise you it is not all out of your hands, and there are steps you can taking to minimizing the rejection you are facing wherever you go, however, it starts by looking at where you have been using that rejection as a boast of “this is who I am, love it or lump it!” and then moving onto allowing the Lord to help you find your identity amongst the people He has surrounded us with.
You will walk out your own call in fear and trembling, but it does not mean you have to do it completely alone.
Step 01: Could there be something you are saying or doing that is being perceived wrong?
Step 02: You know God is asking you to let go. So let’s do that together now, ok
Step 03: Jesus is waiting! Bring your hurts to Him every single day and let His healing wash over you
Step 04: You have more friends that you realize! Connect with your community and involve yourself in events in your city
Step 05: Reach out to a spouse or a friend you trust and ask, “What can I do to come across better?”
Rejection is certainly a part of your prophetic calling, but you do not have to stay there, you can get healing, you can overcome and you can rise up by building meaningful relationships and reaching people with a word so sweet and encouraging they accept whatever you have to say without realizing you are telling they are in deception!

Working alongside her husband they stand as equals raising a generation of prophets who are going to build the kingdom of God, tear down the works of the enemy, and bring the bride of Christ into a face-to-face relationship with Jesus.
