What My Ladies Day Taught Me About Prophetic Destiny!
I get my driving skill from my father. He taught me to drive, and despite giving him a few extra gray hairs, new dents, and scratches on the car, I think I have gotten the hang of it pretty well! One of the best lessons he ever taught me about driving was to learn your route because if you know the general route you are going to take, you will not be stressed out if something goes wrong or if you have to take a detour. This lesson came in real handy one of our ladies days when I had to drive our group from one venue to the next, Disney princess songs blasting away, and finally end at a restaurant for the evening… the only problem was the particular restaurant I made the reservation for and the restaurant I ended up driving to was not the same branch!
Somehow I had gotten the address for one of their other locations 35 minutes away from the one I had made the reservation, and if that wasn’t bad enough, it was two minutes from where we had been hanging out most of the day! So, one embarrassingly long ride back to the correct location, where every light was wanted to dress in red, and with the tune of Frozen’s “Let it go” blasting in the background, I had plenty of time to meditate on this lifelong lesson. Turns out there was one very important point I forgot - double-check the name AND location of your destination!
I am sure I am not the only one who has had to endure the fun-poking of your peers as you drive the road of shame? It is a life lesson we have all learned, but it is one we somehow do not think to learn about when it comes to our prophetic call. You finally figured out you are called to be a prophet. You start flowing in the gifts and giving prophetic words, and then… well, that’s it isn’t it? That is all you are supposed to do, right?
Well, I got news for you, because you are “called as a prophet” does not mean that God does not have a specific track for you to run on or destination in mind. There is a point and purpose to your training, and there is a very clear job description for you to fulfill once you are in office. So, you have a couple of ways to discover the not-so-secret destination of your call:
Ask God. He is willing and well able to tell you (if He hasn’t already) and He will not withhold that destination from you, but He will progress it!
If Asking God wasn’t helpful enough, look at the theme or trend of pressure or deaths that have been coming on you through your circumstances or relationships (this is who and what God uses to train you)
Finally, get some training. From our prophetic school that specializes in hands-on training to our fivefold ministry school that will give you a well-rounded understanding of your grace and calling, getting help will always give you a good idea of where you are going and confirm your destination.
So, no Prophet of God, the Lord is not so mysterious and “high-and-mighty” that He will not reveal himself or His plans to you, He is just waiting for you to ask.
